// software_developer
Software engineer building automation, simulation tooling, and internal test infrastructure for U.S. Navy software validation. VB.NET and Matlab/Simulink tooling for DDG 1000 lab workflows in cleared defense environments.
// profile
Develops VB.NET and Matlab/Simulink tooling for DDG 1000 intraship network test workflows in a cleared lab environment.
Replaces manual, error-prone pipelines with repeatable data-driven generation — turning week-long update cycles into single runs.
Delivered 6 cybersecurity lectures as a sophomore, mentored CTF teams, and maintained academic software for ~45 students.
// selected_work
Simulation tooling, automation, security, and hardware projects.
★ featured
VB.NET client/server system providing lab-wide access to a Simulink-based ship simulation. Headless server removes multi-user Matlab conflicts; desktop GUI lets 15–20 users browse subsystems and modify simulation values.
→ replaced single-user bottleneck with concurrent lab-wide access
automation
Tooling that parses Access database signal definitions and generates Matlab/Simulink subsystems for ~17,000 ship signals. Replaced manual, week-long update cycles.
→ repeatable generation tied directly to updated signal database inputs
security
Team project using Weka and PE-header-derived features to classify 32-bit executables as malware or clean files.
→ senior design capstone project
personal
Shared smart mirror with embedded display, custom frame, speaker, mic, and LED indicators. Integrated household schedules and voice assistant for a kitchen-facing display.
→ daily-use household tool for multiple roommates
// experience
Develops internal tooling for a full-ship Matlab/Simulink simulation environment used to test software delivered for DDG 1000 intraship network systems.
Built VB.NET tooling to parse signal definitions from an Access database and generate Simulink subsystems spanning ~17,000 ship signals. Designed a headless server/client architecture that acts as the sole interface to the Simulink model, enabling 15–20 concurrent lab users and replacing a single-user, specialist-driven workflow.
Helped develop material for CPEG 472/672: Penetration Testing and CTFs. Delivered 6 formal lectures as a rising sophomore on XSS, web exploitation, binary exploitation, buffer overflows, and reverse engineering.
Maintained the TraderEx stock market simulator used by ~45 students. Mentored students in collegiate CTF participation and grew the university's cybersecurity community.
Software, cybersecurity, robotics, and hardware-focused coursework and projects.
